Clarify what matters most to you, then score your options
What matters to you
Start by setting out your decision criteria. This step is deliberately challenging — you're going to make trade-offs. Because everything must add up to 100%, when you increase the importance of one factor, others have to decrease. This forces you to be honest about what truly matters to you. You can edit each criterion to reflect what actually matters in your career decisions.
Total importance
100%
The sliders always total 100%. When you adjust one up, others move down proportionally. This constraint is what makes this exercise valuable — it reveals what you genuinely prioritise.
Your job options
Add the roles or organisations you're considering. Enter a job in the field below and click the "Add" button. You can add as many jobs as you like.
For example: Conservation Director at Wildlife Fund, Research Fellow at University, Animal Behaviour Consultant, Senior Policy Officer, Programme Manager at Charity
Score each job
For each criterion below, rate how well this particular job meets that criterion on a scale of 1–5. There's no restriction on your ratings — you can rate all jobs as 1, all as 5, or anything in between. A 1 means the job gives you very little of this factor; a 5 means it gives you a lot. Your ratings aren't compared between jobs, they're based on the job itself. If you don't have complete information about a role, just answer based on the best information you have.
Your results
Your results show how well each role aligns with what matters to you. The higher a role's score, the better it matches your priorities — because it scores highly on the factors you've weighted as most important. A role that scores 85/100 aligns much more closely with your values and priorities than one that scores 45/100. Use these rankings to understand which opportunity best fits what you're looking for in a career move.
